H.3161 is a refiling of a bill from last session that shared the same bill number. Both bills establish a lengthy list of new regulations for “compounding pharmacies”, pharmacies that mix or modify medications. Like many other pharmacy related bills the old and current versions of H.3161 were both filed by Representative Kit Spires (R. Lexington), a pharmacist who has a record of filing bills related to the pharmaceutical industry, some of which could prove financially beneficial to himself.
