H.3240 is a reciprocity bill that would require South Carolina to recognize CWPs from all other states. Visitors, under this law, must follow South Carolina’s concealed carry laws while in our state.

Keeping and bearing arms is a right and not a privilege, and citizens shouldn’t require any permission from the government to exercise this right. This bill would be a step in the right direction as it allows more freedom to gun owners from out of state.

By South Carolina Policy Council

Since 1986 the South Carolina Policy Council Education Foundation has advocated innovative policy ideas that advance the principles of limited government and free enterprise. The Policy Council is the state’s meeting place for business leaders, policymakers, and academics – as well as engaged citizens – who want to see South Carolina become the most free state in the nation.
