S.974 would allow breweries licensed to sell beer produced on their premises to also obtain a license to sell liquor purchased from a wholesaler. Under current law these licensed breweries can obtain licenses to sell beer and wine purchased from a wholesaler (in addition to beer produced on the premise) but they cannot obtain a license to sell liquor.

While the need for any form of license to sell these products is debatable, allowing brewpubs even the option of providing another product their customers is a positive development.
