Eliminating CWP Fees

S.109 is a reintroduction of last session’s S.1045. Both bills eliminate the $50 fee that must be paid in order to receive a concealed weapons permit, and the $5 fees that must be paid for the issuance of a replacement for a lost permit or an updated permit to reflect a change of address. As we have said before, citizens shouldn’t have to pay to exercise constitutional rights. They shouldn’t have to receive a permit either but S.109 would at least eliminate the payment portion of the rights violation.
